Avoid nasty shocks with a survey

You can minimise the risk by asking a qualified surveyor to answer the following questions:

  1. Is the agreed price reasonable?
  2. Are there any drawbacks that I don’t know about?
  3. If so, what do I need to do about them?

Commissioning your own survey is a simple and economical way to avoid nasty surprises later on. In some cases a surveyor may be able to help you renegotiate the purchase price. Both the Consumer Association ‘Which’ and the Council of Mortgage Lenders advise you to make your own survey/valuation in addition to any mortage valuation undertaken on behalf of your mortgage proviver.

For a competitively priced survey, speak to the experts at Tiffen & Co first.
